Access 2016 Error after 22H2 update
Hello,
Has anyone else been experiencing the issue where Access prompts that it cant use "file path".accdb; file already in use? This is preventing multiuser experience of shared (split) database stored on network file share. The issue started occurring after the update to 22H2 (for me, mid-April).
A similar instance occurred at the end of 2021 that was documented here: Error in Access when opening a database on a network file share - Microsoft Support
I have been looking for any updates by MS for this and have not been able to find anything that hints at a possible solution in the works. Thank you for any tips or info that can be provided.

Hi,
What is your exact version and build number of Access/Office 2016 (see File - Account) ?
Depending whether it is MSl or C2R, the support website you mentioned has different cures. In case of MSI check if you have the fixing KB update installed.

My version info for the MSI:
Office Access 2016 (16.0.5164.1000) MSO (16.0.5439.1001) 32-bit
Unfortunately, I am not in a position to make any changes for myself, or the organization's end users of the database application being afflicted. I am trying to get as much of a solution, or the information to form a solution, together to take to the IT professionals of our agency who can make the changes.
The link I posted was from the 2022 issue and that took about +/- a month before MS pushed a KB to resolve the problem. Leading up to their fix there was a lot more chatter about the issue and this time it seems not the case. I am hoping, oddly enough, that it is an issue from the MS 22H2 update and not something internal to the organization; one will get fixed, the other wont. Looking at the support page, there isnt a mention of the 'file in use' error that I can find.
