S4B Client Version: 16.0.8326.2052

There are many users reported that the SFB Client Version 16.0.8326.2052 crashed as follow. It seems it's the lastest Office Suite version they streamed down directly from Microsoft O365 portal.  

 

 

Solution:

  • Uninstalll current Office Suite
  • Download Office Suite from Deferred Channel instead (not current) or choose to download lower Office365 Suite version than 16.0.8326.2052 as shown in this guide.

    Our engineering team is working on a fix and treating this with high severity. We will provide more information as soon as we start rolling out the fix to our customers.

      Noted and thank you for updates. 

  • You don't need to uninstall the current version, it will help if you set the following registry key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate\updatebranch=Reg_SZ:Business

    and start the update schedule task. Should be faster than a complete uninstall and reinstall.

      Just to check if that reg fix is tested yet and reported solved?

        The reg key switches the channel from Current (or whatever you use) to Deferred, so in general it makes the same thing as you did manually.
