Hi Allen, (& sorry for my delay in answering you)

you were indeed right, I hadn't noticed that to edit my new topic I had to use that cog icon so high on right side and so above my new topic title (and probably because a more typical use of a cog icon I'm aware of is related to 'Settings').

My expectation was indeed simply different because I already saw that 'Edit' command was typically available when selecting a '3 horizontally centered dots' menu whose icon I added just below this line and that normally appears just at right side after I've added a reply (just like this one).

'3 horizontally centered dots'

So, since the beginning I was expecting a similar '3 horizontally centered dots' menu to also appear at the right side of this my new topic and to be able find an 'Edit' choice inside it, but that wasn't true because no '3 horizontally centered dots' menu was ever shown. And that's also why I said I was expecting some more UI & UX consistency πŸ˜‡.

Please also note that such expectations were also due to my own finding of more UI & UX consistency while using another quite similar new topic posting tool (so as an example I'm pointing you to this new Q&A question I added some time ago through 'MSLearn'; where an 'Edit' command has always been available in a quite similar '3 vertically centered dots' menu that was always made available on lower side of that posting UI either after I completed entering a new 'topic/question' and also after entering a new comment or an answer).

I hope now I've better clarified to you what I meant initially, so thanks again for your attention.

P.S. I also just noticed that in next line immediately below the one where cog icon is located but even more  far right side of web page (so extremely near to my MS Edge own scroll bar) I've seen an 'Edit' (a label?) that anyway now have no real usage because nothing happens when clicking on it. So, I'm now wondering if that same 'label' might have been originally meant to be much nearer to that same cog icon, because I'd say that only if it was put exactly right below it, then it might have helped to give an end user a hint to use that cog icon.

Regards

Rob

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I think we have some work to do here. Q&A is a completely different platform and works very differently to the Microsoft Tech Community. I will capture your feedback and feed it into future sprints.

The edit label in your PS is actually a known bug that is caused when a community owner has not set a hero image on their community hub. Out of interest where did you see it?

Hi Allen, (& again I'm sorry for my delay in answering you)

ok, I understand they are different platforms, and I was also not saying that Q&A one is better than this one (or that this one is worse than the other). πŸ˜‡

I see that 'Edit' label just below the thin line shown under the cog you told me about, and it's also moved towards right edge of my browser tab.

Please see web capture excerpt I've now succeeded to enclose just below (my trembling evidencing is in red). πŸ˜€πŸ˜‡

      Regards

      Rob
