The original message of carrera911 dated September 28, 2023 is not entirely correct.
As well as subsequent messages from other users.
Because actually installing the latest version of macOS Sonoma is not the reason why it is impossible to print on a local printer.
Also incorrect is the official message from gietal on behalf of Microsoft dated October 06, 2023 that the cause of the problem is the removal of postscript support in macOS Sonoma: "macos Sonoma remove support for postscript which is the format Remote Desktop use to redirect printing. This format is used for backward compatibility to older windows OSes».
Also incorrect is the official message from gietal on behalf of Microsoft dated October 06, 2023 that printer redirection is currently supported only when connected to Windows 10 and newer versions: «We want to inform you that due to recent changes in marcos Sonoma, printer redirection is currently supported only when connecting to Windows 10 and newer versions ».
The main reason is that Microsoft developers changed the Microsoft Remote Desktop program itself in such a way that it stopped supporting the function of printing from a remote computer to a local printer for RDP.
I can't say exactly which version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop program the printer redirection function stopped working, but I can say for sure that this function works in version 10.2.7 (1559).
For example, I have the macOS Sonoma v operating system installed. 14.4.1 (23E224).
When using Microsoft Remote Desktop version 10.2.7 (1559), the print function from a remote computer to a local computer is available.
On the contrary, when using Microsoft Remote Desktop versions 10.9.6 (2188) and 10.9.7 (2192), the print function from a remote computer to a local computer is NOT available.
In all versions of the Microsoft Remote Desktop program, the "Printers" checkbox was selected in the "Edit PC" dialog box on the "Devices & Audio" tab in the "Redirect" section.
I ask Microsoft developers to fix their mistake, which is not related to the macOS Sonoma operating system or the removal of postscript support.
Anyone can verify that the problem is solely on the Microsoft side if they install an early version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop program (version 10.2.7), in which the print function works correctly on any macOS operating system (I checked on several operating systems).
Sincerely, Maxim

You cannot use Remote Desktop to print to printers that use postscript through the Mac if you are remoting to any version of Windows older than Windows 10.
The only solution is to upgrade whatever it is you are connecting to, to Windows 10 or newer.

MAC OS Sonoma 14.3.1 version has started having issues in printing from Mac beta version or Microsoft Remote Desktop app. Please someone update this thread with the solution.

Landscape is the issue here. Users noticed this recently, but not having any other printing issues in general. They found they cannot print landscape to any InkJet printer, but every LaserJet we have tested works OK. TSEasyPrint seems to have an issue with the MacOS RDP client printing landscape to InkJet printers (mostly Epson Eco Tank).

I have a customer who is still having the landscape issue - they pick landscape but it prints in portrait. They found a workaround:
"Just wanted to let you know we’ve found a workaround for the printer issue – converting to pdf then printing as opposed to printing directly from Access seems to do the trick."
So maybe the issue only affects output from certain programs, but I do hope Microsoft can fix it, since it was not an issue before.

Same issue here we are running macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 and Microsoft Remote Desktop 10.9.4 (2161) and when users connect to our AZURE server and try to print to a local resource the output never makes it to the print queue. This worked perfectly with MacOS Ventura but since we upgraded we have not been able to print from the RDS session. Microsoft please help us solve this issue there is definitely something wrong with Microsoft Remote Desktop 10.9.4 (2161)

Did anyone ever resolve or have a solution to not being able to print landscape in RD?

After installing the version 10.9.4 the printers redirections is still brocken when I connect to the Windows Server 2008 R2. My work processes were greatly affected.
