- SigurdWernerIron ContributorUnifying the management of all types of updates is great. Can this also be expanded to BitLocker suspension? As of today, only Feature Updates suspend BitLocker but Quality Updates or drivers/firmware not. It would be great if all Autopatch triggered restarts could suspend by default. For a company still required to have a PIN configured, this would allow us to really update outside the end-users' active hours.
- JustinBCMCopper ContributorIs there an ETA on when Autopatch will be GA for Education licenses? Roadmap?
- Joe_Lurie

JustinBCM We can't comment on roadmap items here, but making Autopatch available in EDU is something we know is wanted/needed. Today this is not a feature that exists in the A-SKUs, but we're hoping to make it available in A3 and higher. Keep your eyes open for an eventual announcement.
- Komal190790Copper ContributorIs there a plan to synchronize driver/firmware updates with Patch Tuesday in WUfB DS?

There's a plan, it's in the backlog! No ETA as yet. - EricOhlinIron Contributor

Thanks for joining us! We hope you enjoyed this session. If you missed the live broadcast, don’t worry – you can watch it on demand. And we’ll continue to answer questions here in the chat through the end of the week. There's more great content in store at the Microsoft Technical Takeoff! What do you like about the event so far? Share your feedback and help shape the direction of future events on the Tech Community!
- Nathan_LockwoodBrass ContributorI know with Windows Update for Business Driver/firmware updates don't align with Patch Tuesday, potentially causing more reboots on a device then needed. Is this the same with autopatch? I had also read that Microsoft was looking to add this on the roadmap for Windows Update for Business. If this isn't a included in Autopatch, is it on the roadmap? Do you have an ETA?
- Sirescreek
Microsoft
It is on the roadmap! No ETA at this time.
- Jacky0988Copper ContributorDeploying a driver & firmware update policy to multiple device models, will it be possible in the future to view and sort the drivers/firmware per device model? At this point, we need to create policies for each device model we are using, to identify which driver/firmware needs to be reviewed and approved.

The ability to tell to which models a driver applies will be coming in a future update. No ETA at this time.

So, WUfB will now be under the AutoPatch tab/blade, even if our tenant is not enrolled in AutoPatch?
- Harman_Thind

Hi all, AriaUpdated is correct that there is no change right now.
However, when the unified product goes live, then there will be a change to the admin experience. All update experiences will live under a single node in Microsoft Intune, that being Devices -> Windows Autopatch. Here is where you will find the experience for Update rings for Windows 10 and later, Feature Update, Quality Update, and Driver Update policies. See the image below for reference.
Reports will of course live under the Windows Autopatch section under reports.
Depending on your licensing, you will have access to specific features within this new unified Windows Autopatch portal, as discussed in the session. For applicable licenses, there are optional opt in only features.

Hey Harman_Thind, Thank you for clarifying. My question was in reference to when the product being shown goes live, not the console at this exact moment.
So, my original question/theory is true? "WUfB will now be under the AutoPatch tab/blade, even if our tenant is not enrolled in AutoPatch?"
This seems confusing. Everything under AutoPatch, even if we're not enrolled in the AutoPatch service? Why? Jere said it best... "There's gonna be many confused admins after this. 1 more not needed name change, IMO."
FYI

There's gonna be many confused admins after this. 1 more not needed name change, IMO.
Edit. Now I'm more confused after reading Aria's comment. 😄

Right now the blades in Intune will not be moved. So if you're using the Update Rings Page / Feature Update Deployments page, then you can continue to use those. They are not moving at this time. 🙂- EricOhlinIron Contributor
Hey AriaUpdated , thanks for the response. So, what is this console blade view? Does this only activate if your tenant is enrolled in AutoPatch? Thanks!
- Charlie DobsonIron ContributorCan the reporting be emailed to VPs upon request or on a regular basis?

Today, only Autopatch admins can access reports, but we've heard from several admins that non-admin access to update reporting is a valuable, time-saving feature. - Mounica_Battula

Autopatch reports can be exported and shared across the team. Currently, email updates are only available for Quality Updates and include release schedule, release reminder and summary.

Regarding the various questions on Windows Autopatch licensing availability:
Licensing requirements are staying the same—Windows Autopatch customers will continue to use the same licenses for the service. Those licenses are: Microsoft Intune, Entra ID Premium, and Microsoft 365 / Windows 11 Enterprise E3/E5, and now Microsoft 365 F3 too. These rights extend to Windows 365 Enterprise.
For A3/A5 (EDU), and Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscriptions, organizations will retain the license rights to use all existing Windows Update for Business deployment service capabilities. New subscribers will also have rights to use Windows Update for Business deployment service.
- An important note: For existing WUfB customers, you will not be losing any functionality, you can still continue using the service and technology as you previously had, just now under a new brand, Windows Autopatch.
- Christopher HolschuhCopper ContributorThanks for the clarification on this 🙂
- MarkTDSCopper ContributorWhen will Autopatch be available for users with EDU licensing(M365 A3/A5)? Also, when will Autopatch be available for users with the SMB, M365 Business Premium license? Can you make Autopatch part of the Intune offering rather than within the Windows Enterprise E3? This will allow users with Windows Pro OS the ability to utilize Autopatch as well.
