Nov 27, 2023Regarding the various questions on Windows Autopatch licensing availability:
Licensing requirements are staying the same—Windows Autopatch customers will continue to use the same licenses for the service. Those licenses are: Microsoft Intune, Entra ID Premium, and Microsoft 365 / Windows 11 Enterprise E3/E5, and now Microsoft 365 F3 too. These rights extend to Windows 365 Enterprise.
For A3/A5 (EDU), and Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscriptions, organizations will retain the license rights to use all existing Windows Update for Business deployment service capabilities. New subscribers will also have rights to use Windows Update for Business deployment service.
- An important note: For existing WUfB customers, you will not be losing any functionality, you can still continue using the service and technology as you previously had, just now under a new brand, Windows Autopatch.
