Event details

Today, you manage your Windows 10 estate using an established process, cadence, tools, servicing model, a ring strategy, security model, etc. so what should one expect in moving to a Windows 11 estate?
Submit your questions during this live hour--or submit questions early (by posting a Comment below) and catch up when it's convenient for you.
This AMA did not have a video feed, but our speakers responded to comments live during the scheduled time in discussion below.

- GovGeekBrass ContributorShould we expect separate Windows 11 ADMX templates and Security Baselines while Windows 10 21H2 (assuming it's the last Win10 release) is still supported?
- AriaUpdated
Microsoft
Hi Win 11 ADMX files will be released when the Win 11 feature update is released (+/- a few months). You will be able to use these templates to manage 10 or 11 (the same as other ADMX files). Further, we will release ADMX files for Win 10 21H2 when that feature update is released. Similarly you can use those files to manage earlier versions of 10. The release of ADMX files is the same that the release of ADMX files has been and will be (at least until we announce we are changing it) ๐
- Christian ZenzanoBrass ContributorIs there a table that will show the differenced between Win10 and Win11?
- Deleted
Not a table yet but you can learn more about whatโs new with Windows 11 Pro at https://aka.ms/next-for-windows and Windows 11 Enterprise at https://aka.ms/Windows/web001
- Ahmed_HHCopper ContributorWhat Is TPM and Why Does It Need to Be Enabled to Upgrade to Windows 11?

- KurtGMoody21Copper ContributorCan we get a full list of which of today's session are live please? That will help us understand how to better schedule our time and prioritize complementary levels of engagement throughout the day.
- ThomasTrombleyIron ContributorHi Kurt. This page has all of the sessions listed down low, and the live ones have a green live sticker. However, all questions will come in written form, with folks answering live on screen. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/tech-community-live/tech-community-live-windows-edition/ev-p/2481262
- Marador121Copper ContributorI think the question was more about which sessions have video and which are text based only. Is there a way to tell which will have video ahead of time.
- ChrisWilliamsBrass ContributorFor those organizations which have policies still applied through group policy will there be a new release of templates for Windows 11 or will those existing for Windows 10 carry over to Windows 11 devices?
- KevinMineweaser_MSFT
Microsoft
Hi Chris, Yes, there will be a new ADMX released for Windows 11 GA. Hope this helps, -Kevin
- Udo_PetersCopper ContributorWhat will be the Windows 10 upgrade scenarios via management solutions in Windows 11 look like? Intunes, MEM, SCCM,...?
- Dave_BackmanIron ContributorFrom a plan, prepare and deploy perspective, we do not anticipate any changes to your existing processes, approach or tools. The foundation of Windows is 11 is based on the core of 10 so any tooling you leverage today will work to deploy 11. Caveat, updates to some of those tools will occur between now and GA to fully support 11.
- Jim_PonderCopper ContributorThis is NOT cool. I was hoping for a live presentation of what windows 10 to windows 11 will be. The changes and such.
- Jason_Leznek
Microsoft
Hi, Jim, sorry for the disappointment. There is a day-long agenda with full presentations as well as AMAs like this session. I hope the content is useful and enjoyable for you.
- GovGeekBrass ContributorWhen should we expect to see Windows 11 ISO's in either MSDN or VLSC?
- hoyty76Iron ContributorIt will show up on the WIP ISO download first. http://aka.ms/wipiso
- Jason_Leznek
Microsoft
Hi, GovGeek, they'll be available after General Availability in the Fall.
- Dennis_EwaldBrass ContributorWill Enterprise State Roaming also include application settings like it was done previously with roaming profiles ?
