Q1: In testing Conditional Access Session Controls for Windows 365 MFA, we would like users to be always be prompted for MFA when accessing cloud PC via web or RDP client, however the session control option for "Every Time" is greyed out and a disclaimer indicating this is not supported for selected apps (W365 and AVD). Is this a bug or are there plans to support "Every Time" for Cloud PCs?
Q2: In testing Conditional Access Session Controls for Windows 365 MFA, we configure users to be prompted every 4 hours, however if the user is already authenticated via Azure AD, they are not prompted at all. It appears from testing users get MFA prompted at the first connection to the tenant only but following connections to W365 do not. Is there something missing in the configuration?

A month ago I bought a new licence for a more powerful machine. For some reason, auto renew wasn't set up for the payments. The licence expired on Sunday (day off). I reactivated it 27 hours later. All my data was deleted, everything, a month's worth of work lost. I contacted support, they told me your policy is that if a payment fails and a licence expires, all data will be erased in 24 hours and this CANNOT be undone. This is entirely different to your Microsoft 365 data retention policy and your Windows 365 FAQ says the policy is the same. Question: Do you think this data retention policy is fair? Do you think any serious business could trust you to provide their cloud PCs when you will destroy their work within 24 hours over simple payment issues?
- Daniel HarrisBrass ContributorThanks for the heads up. I recently bought a new business licence also and my renewal is also disabled. I would have expected data retention to be better than 24 hours. An expired card could be disastrous
- andreipop940Copper ContributorIt has been disastrous for us. I have lost a month of server programming, this is going to set back my entire company and app release by weeks. Yes, I should have been backing up, but I was working solo in a cloud machine that IS backed up, so felt at no risk. I am devastated. and quite frankly, sickened. It's stated that the data retention policy is the same as Microsoft 365, which states that even an expedited delete request takes 3 days, active takes ~ 30, passive ~ 180, but my licence didn't auto renew (even though the card was on file) and they wiped the entire machine with no ability to recover, in just 27 hours? Even a trial account that expires has a 30 day grace period. None of this makes sense. Unfortunately, this question isn't a sexy question, so I don't expect it to be spoke about today.
- johnjjohnIron ContributorQuestion: Will you consider creating a permission that allows non-local admin users to restart their cloud PC from the Remote Desktop interface i.e. they can right-click the Start button and select Restart? Note, this option is available when the user is a local admin. Thx

- Daniel HarrisBrass ContributorQ3. When are the new Windows 365 apps coming - can Windows 365 business users apply to join the beta? We want users to be able to use the Windows 365 Switch and Windows 365 Boot features - Follow up to that....Will Windows 365 Switch and Windows 365 Boot work if the user signs in to their local device using a personal account on a personal device and then accesses a company issued Cloud PC?
- Daniel HarrisBrass ContributorQ2. Are there plans to introduce an option to shut down a Cloud PC when not in use to reduce costs? Similar to how you can stop an Azure VM? This would be good for when we aren't using the Cloud PC 24/7
- Daniel HarrisBrass ContributorQ1. Over time are there plans to invest further into RDP to provide a better multimedia experience? I know that Citrix are working with Microsoft to provide this to their customers, but it would be great to see RDP evolve (or some new standard) that would let us run our Cloud PC's with buttery smooth animations. I believe right now RDP is capped at 30fps. Windows 365 Cloud PC has been working really well for us, using it for development in the cloud meaning local compute doesn't need to be as expensive, but being able to access a consistent experience from any device. It would just be nice to see performance improve over time (not that it is bad now) to the point where it feels like you're sitting in front of a local machine.
