Can you tell me how engagement is linked to financial performance?
We’ve seen a connection time and again between employee engagement and company performance. In the new Work Trend Index, organizations that intentionally cultivated engagement, or the extent to which employees feel empowered, energized, and committed to organizational success, performed 2x as well financially as those organizations with low engagement. Amidst economic uncertainty, ensuring we have engaged and productive people to weather the storm is more important than ever. - Mike_WalshHow do you see employee engagement data and workplace analytics data coming together and what does this unlock for organizations?
- CaribayGarciaTo create effective feedback flywheel organizations, need to design listening strategies that pull on different levers that match strategy to need. These levers such as source of data (e.g., sentiment and system data) or cadence (e.g., monthly, quarterly, etc) and stakeholder (e.g., IC, manager, leader, etc) help design a strategy around who should we be listening to when, what should we be asking and how often, who is accountable for action taking and most importantly what problems are we trying to answer. Understanding what levers, you have and when to use them can enable organizations to not just “listen” but embed listening as a key organizational capability critical to its business goals, whether its growth, efficiency, stability, or something else. So I'm thrilled about the opportunity to combine insights of how people feel and how they work to create more empowering work experiences.
- Excited to see the Glint brand moving to Viva. What does that mean for the look, feel, iconography, UI, etc. for the new Viva Glint product?

Microsoft Viva Glint will look and feel familiar for customers, but we will be making updates to the colors we use and the app icon when it becomes available in Microsoft Viva this July.
- Why did Glint move from LinkedIn to Microsoft Viva?
- Glint joined LinkedIn in 2018 as we saw opportunity to bring together employee engagement, hiring, and learning – and at that stage Viva didn't exist yet. As Viva was launched in 2021, we collectively realized bringing Glint to Viva, making feedback available directly into the flow of work for employees, would be the best way to reach the most people to improve employee happiness and success around the globe. - Mike_WalshViva Glint will be available in July 2023! It will be included as part of the Viva Suite or available for purchase as a standalone solution. - Can you tell us about how Viva Glint is different than the current Glint product? What are you most excited about as Glint enters the world of Microsoft?
Viva Glint IS the new Glint, so in many ways they are the same. There will be some changes right away, for example very minor shading differences and enhancements to the survey-taking experience that align it with the latest accessibility standards. And we will continue delivering on the roadmap, with upcoming product enhancements to make it easier to launch and administer surveys at scale, and to enable partners to support your deployment and use of Viva Glint. I'm most excited about two things: Viva Glint being part of an integrated experience with other apps like Insights, Goals, and Engage; and bringing Copilot to Glint to enable conversational interaction with Glint insights.
JustinBlack, JaimeGonzales, CaribayGarcia, can you tell us more about Viva Glint's approach to measuring engagement?
- Viva People Science has created a research-backed, validated framework to measure and improve engagement. Our engagement outcome, how happy are you working at your company, has been repeatedly validated as an accurate capture of engagement. The framework also incorporates aspects of the employee experience that, when fulfilled, have been proven to drive engagement, including wellbeing, connection, purpose, growth, clarity, and empowerment. We work with customers to tailor this framework to their organizational context to ensure we are accomplishing the right people and business objectives.
