We are very excited to announce a SharePoint Server Subscription Edition AMA!
An AMA is a live text-based online event similar to a “YamJam” on Yammer or an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with Microsoft product experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.
Feel free to post your questions about SharePoint Server Subscription Edition anytime in the comments below beforehand, if it fits your schedule or time zone better, though questions will not be answered until the live hour.

- Tawanda VakisaiCopper ContributorAre the any plans to have the SharePoint Lookbook Themes available for the SharePoint Server Edition?
- Aria_ConsultingBrass ContributorI suggest taking a look at ShortPoint (https://www.shortpoint.com/)

Hi Tawanda,
Thank you for raising this feature request. So far we don't have a plan to enable this feature to import a SharePoint Lookbook theme into modern site of SharePoint Server Subscription Edition. But this is an opportunity we can look at in the future.
Could you please provide more information about this ask so that we can better understand why you need it and in which scenario you need it, such as
- Who will be the major users of Lookbook theme in which usage?
- What kind of site do you want to applying the themes to?
- What kinds of themes are you specific looking at?
It will help us to prioritize the feature request.
Thanks
Steve
- paalamundsenCopper ContributorAre there any news to the BCS features of SharePoint Server Subscription Edition? Are the same BCS features as previous versions still supported (e.g external content types)? And are there any new tools or features related to BCS?
- TroyStarr
Microsoft
Hi Pal, are there any new features or capabilities you'd like to see in BCS? If so, could you describe what scenarios you'd like to use them for? Thanks! - Steve Zhang
Microsoft
Hi Pal,
Thank your asking the question about BCS. BCS features in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition are exactly the same as they were in previous version of SharePoint Server, such as SharePoint Server 2019.
Thanks
Steve
- Justin-GOVBrass ContributorWhat are some log reading quick wins? What are "obvious" log messages that should be sent to our corporate log datastore?
- Steve Zhang
Microsoft
Hi Justin,
Which kind of log are you talking about? ULS log or Audit log?
If you are talking about audit log, you maybe can follow this post to export audit log into csv file and then you can import into your database.
[SOLVED] Is there a way to store SharePoint 2013 audit logs outside SharePoint? (spiceworks.com)
Thanks

Having errors while installing a custom PDF IFilter, I investigated and traced the problem to a simpler one, the following:
Running the following powershell command fails on Sharepoint SE:
Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState -SearchApplication $ ssa -Identity XPS -Enable $ FALSE
I get the following error:Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState : The processing of files of type 'xps' is already supported by the parsing system.
With VisualStudio I found that:
I believe the problem is related to the contents of the Default-manifest.txt file which on Sharepoint 2019, where everything works correctly, contains the following text:
...
E:\SharePoint\Office Server\Applications\Search\Repository\Journal\33fdd438-c057-4391-b20a-57f203c05d88\Microsoft.DocParsing.dll
Microsoft.DocParsing, Version=16.0.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0fbbedb750799a68
...While on Sharepoint SE it contains:
E:\SharePointData\Index\Office Server\Applications\Search\Repository\Journal\e9ac9b13-f7e2-48c3-99b1-9fc8c8a8dcc4\Microsoft.DocParsing.dll
Microsoft.DocParsing, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0fbbedb750799a68
E:\SharePointData\Index\Office Server\Applications\Search\Repository\Journal\ec0d23eb-7e8b-4d88-a2a3-e83c8cad9678\Microsoft.UserDictionaries.EntityExtraction.Companies.Inclusions.dll
Microsoft.UserDictionaries.EntityExtraction.Companies.Inclusions, Version=15.0.8082.15928, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0fbbedb750799a68...
The versions shown seem to me to be incorrect.
I would like guidance on how to fix this.
If the solution to the problem is not simple, I would like to have some information that could allow me to continue with my investigations such as:1) How can I regenerate it;
2) Which executable / dll creates this file;
3) At what moment it is created;
4) How and where the information that is inserted in the file is retrieved;5) How can I officially report this issue to Microsoft. I done a report to Microsoft support but they tell me they support "Out of the box" product only.
I have already submitted the question to the community but to date we have not found any solution, indeed it seems that it is not always reproduced.
On the internet I saw that this problem has also manifested itself in the past with Sharepoint 2013.
Thanks in advance

- _KarlHBrass ContributorThe Microsoft Helps Youtube channel is great (https://www.youtube.com/c/MicrosoftCustomerSupport) - is there planned SharePoint topics scheduled for this channel? And also, I feel its critical for Microsoft to keep working with the community on the SharePoint feedback site (https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/06735c62-321c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472). Would this be the best method to use for product feedback?
- TroyStarr
Microsoft
Thanks Karl, glad to hear you find the Microsoft Helps YouTube channel so helpful! What kind of SharePoint topics would you like to see a video series for?
There are several ways you can share feedback with the SharePoint team. If you have a specific feature request, the best way is to open a support case with Microsoft Support and ask for a Design Change Request (DCR). This will ensure the feature request gets routed to the SharePoint product team for consideration. But if you can't open a support case with Microsoft, from time to time we also monitor and review feedback from a variety of channels to better understand our customer needs. That includes the SharePoint Feedback Portal, the SharePoint Tech Community, Reddit, Discord, and others.
