- We have surfaced Viva Engage in MS Teams so you can access it from the left side bar and reach people where they're working. It's gone down well but we've had lots of feedback that it would be great if the Viva Engage button / icon in the Teams side bar could show a red dot when there's new activity in your communities just like it does in Teams for new Chat, new Teams channel posts etc. Is this something you're looking at? ps. I'm sooooo pleased you're rebranding as the other biggie in terms of feedback was why the notifications in Outlook come from Yammer!

- Will there be any corresponding updates to the Power Automate connectors? The Yammer connectors don't allow for automated posting with images and other tools which would really help when creating comms campaigns. Also, will there be changes to the community manager toolkit? Pruning inactive communities, keyword detection etc would be invaluable in maintaining a network!
- Better Power Automate connectors and APIs in general would definitely be appreciated. You can already post with images, but it requires using the Outlook connector to send an e-mail with the image attached...
- Is there a need to do something with the PWA ("Desktop web app")?
- Can you please add a way for enterprise users to select the amount of 'discovery' content injected in their feed? The consequences of missing out on important content are larger than on public facing social networks. Discovering new content is useful but it should be balanced with not drowning important content along the way. Over time, we need ways to set the amount of Discovery content anywhere from 0% (to focus only on who I follow as a user) to 50% or more (to become more aware of what else is happening in the organization). In large organizations, the current Discovery content easily drowns important content in noise.
- Jason_MayansThanks for the feedback -- we do have some tools that help promote/boost specific content in the feed that you want to make sure everyone sees. If you mark something as a "Featured Post", it will help ensure that particular conversation will appear in the Home feed. Furthermore, with the new "Leadership Corner", there is a leadership focused feed there that ensures that all leader content is front and center. However, the home feed is an AI-generated feed where we do attempt to balance discovery + consumption, and given the many factors that are considered in feed generated, cannot be individually tuned.
Will the URL change in the browser version? If yes, will old Yammer URLs and embed feeds still work / automatically redirect?
- MichaelHolsteEventually we will change the URL, but not yet. We'll provide notice when this does change but we will ensure to preserve links and make auto redirects so that nothing breaks.
- Does this transition will also speed up ability to have more data residency options? More specifically interested in when Viva Engage will be able to keep its data in Australian region, instead of US? It's one of the most ask questions on many M365 rollout/enabling projects I've been part of. And frequently it's a showstopper, especially in government.
- MuraliSitaramThis brand name change and new feature set does NOT necessarily mean that Engage will be available in more regions, outside of the US and the EU for data residency purposes. We don't have any timelines for the Australian region, we are IRAP certified however if that helps.
- I would like to know if the power platform's Yammer connector will also be renamed to the Viva Engage connector. And it may correspond to the new function as Viva Engage.
- espnguyenThis is something that we'll get to in time, yes. The functionality behind the connector itself isn't expected to change.

- The announcements mentioned that there are UI/UX changes coming to Viva Engage on the Web. I implore the team to not wreck the current model of interacting with communities that we enjoy on Yammer web and which is significantly more difficult in Viva Engage within Teams. Or, at the very least, please have the collapsible communities panel opened by default.
- Ravin SachdevaThis is a great question, Kevin. And thank you and others on this thread for your feedback regarding navigation for the Viva Engage app in Teams. TL:DR; here is - we are not making changes to the primary navigation (hence the functioning of the left navigation pane which lists your Communities) when Yammer web experience is rebranded to Viva Engage. You will still be able to use the navigation that you love and enjoy on Yammer web when it is rebranded to Viva Engage. Our philosophy for any navigational or layout changes for Viva Engage on web would be to make those changes only if they help reduce any friction in workflows and makes it easier for users to navigate the app and find what they are looking for with ease and efficiency. In the future, we will also make sure that any such changes would be experimented and if proven successful for our users, we'd provide enough heads-up to our customers to allow enough time to update any training documentation before we start to roll out those changes. Heard all your feedback loud and clear on the navigation in Viva Engage app in Teams, we will look to improve that in the coming quarters and make it more consistent and coherent. As we bring all our experiences under the Viva Engage brand, you can expect more consistency in terms of navigation, layout, look & feel, across the board. Re: URLs, Viva Engage on web would still use the same/similar url schema as Yammer.com so that a conversation, community, storyline, etc. have their own distinct urls. We will make sure when we rebrand the Yammer domain to Viva Engage that all the links are backward compatible, so that the existing Yammer links work with the new rebranded Viva Engage experience.
- Seconding Kevin here! It's also important that people can easily find the URL of any asset, whether it's a conversation or a community. I have always trained key stakeholders like admins and communicators that everything in Yammer has a unique URL. That means you can embed a link to a community in a FAQ, or a hack I've always loved: email a list of 3-5 linked conversations weekly to a leader for them to jump in and make an impact via this curated list.
- I can't agree more. Definitely need more clarity on Yammer web's faith, as removing it might be a wrong turn resulting in a loss of adoption. In my tenant (60k users), Yammer web is heavily used, and Viva Engage app is clearly way less popular since, as mentioned here, the experience is not easy to navigate. Leaving an app solely can be risky, at least as of now, both for users and communicators (we can't filter the feed, and communities, it is crucial for us, not sure how featuring and ACA will work), Yammer might lose its position of being such a fantastic powerful channel
