In addition to the questions posted on this page, we also answer questions posted in reply to the event on LinkedIn and Twitter, and in this special live episode, from the live audience in the room, as well. Here are the questions and comments that were addressed today from the live audience:

    • Steve's question to the audience -- What’s holding you back and where are you struggling with your move to Windows 11?- answers can be found at 05:00, 05:50, 06:30, and 06:55
    • Steve and Danny's question -- Anybody having troubles switching your users from Windows 10 to 11?- answered at 15:15
    • QUESTION -- So with deficiencies of Intune, and the fact that system center, excuse me, the telemarketing group stopped and they said that the fact that Windows 10 works great—the Windows 11 move, we’d have to retrain our users and our IT group—why should I move to Windows 11 and Intune? - answered at 38:50
    • QUESTION -- I’ve worked with multiple organizations that continue to run multiple config manager site that worked well with their distributed IT environment... Doing that way with Intune at first may not have the same level of delegated access. Can you speak to that? - answered at 52:50
    • QUESTION -- On Windows 11, will the script PS80T break in the future? - answered at 54:50

And here are the questions and comments that were addressed today from other sources:

    • COMMENT-- I'm all in to manage all devices from the cloud but...I'm still missing policies for Win11 in Intune. For example, Shared Device Mode with OneDrive Sync. We can do it, but need OMA-URI. - addressed at 08:20
    • From Leslie on LinkedIn -- offers thoughts on why not -- Switching to Intune is insanely expensive if you want the licensing to take full advantage of it and Windows 11 is not made for productivity. The taskbar alone. We don't need an OS going backwards in time. - answered at 10:20
    • From Jannik on LinkedIn -- The biggest thing about win 11 is the user training. But I do feel the newer generation is more adaptable. - addressed at 14:45
    • From Kayyum on LinkedIn -- Custom reports is another challenge to make a move to Intune. - addressed at 18:30
    • From Serene on LinkedIn -- Any new capabilities in Intune in the BYOD space, unmanaged devices? MAM for thick Office 365 clients? - answered at 23:00
    • From Daniel on LinkedIn -- Windows 11 migration is not that hard - a lot of complaints about changes - but mainly coming from windows 11 having a bad rep - at the start. Most of them are very accepting. - coming from Germany - addressed at 26:10
    • QUESTION from LinkedIn -- Will there be a possibility for proactive remediation be available in business premium? - answered at 26:50
    • From Matias on LinkedIn -- The Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration can be painful. The "in-place upgrade" is not like a "simple" feature update. I have a long list of issues @ the office. Just to name one, PowerShell modules are not migrated and has to be reinstalled. - addressed at 28:20
    • From Linus on LinkedIn -- When will I see task sequence in Intune? - answered at 30:55
    • From Alfred on LinkedIn has this to say about why it's hard to move forward -- Not having "detailed“ inventory functions in the dashboard is challenging. - addressed at 32:35
    • From Kayyum on LinkedIn -- Do you plan to have some step by step documentation from Microsoft on using PowerBI and Intune connection? - answered at 35:05
    • From David on LinkedIn -- Is it possible to block winget tool commandline for end users but allow install store apps during Autopilot provisioning? - answered at 37:25
    • From Technical Takeoff (Modern management or Windows 11? It's more about "and" then "or") -- This suggests the choice is between Cloud Native or Hybrid, but is there another choice of staying fully on premises with Configuration Manager? - answered at 47:45
    • QUESTION from LinkedIn -- Still testing AutoPilot feature however, In AutoPilot scenario, if the vendor is importing the Hardware hashes to your Azure tenant, how would you TRUST that those are valid and NOT mis-used by attackers? - answered at 50:25
    • QUESTION from LinkedIn -- Why Intune over Jamf for macOS management? - answered at 51:50

The biggest limitations in Intune today are a lack of Software Metering, limited Hardware Inventory with no ability to extend it, no inventory based groups (aka Device Collections), buggy Autopilot experiences for end users, and no bare metal OSD. Those are things that most larger orgs would have to find a way to replicate or replace.
