- DaneaGalbraithIron ContributorAre there other built-in groups like All Users and All Devices perhaps like some of the others from old on-prem AD?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
We just have the two "virtual groups" today in Intune but please let us know what others would be helpful for you in the future.
- DaneaGalbraithIron ContributorIs there a good way to pull all device information that Intune can see to create a custom filter?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
Yes! Here's a tip on how to do that. Create a new filter object with a rule something like this: (Device.name -ne "foo") In the device preview you'll end up with a list of all devices that are not named foo along with all the properties that can be used to create a filter.- Marc_LafIron ContributorThanks for this tip Scott although it does seem like a workaround that shouldn't be required. Hopefully this process improves in the future.

We’re happy you’re here with us at the Microsoft Technical Takeoff! Whether you are attending one session or many, please take this 2-minute survey and let us know your thoughts on this event.
Keep the questions coming! - Marwan TahaCopper ContributorAny plans enabling filters for security baseline groups in the MEM console under Endpoint Security?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
Yes! Baselines are on our backlog. No dates to share on that right now though. Thanks for the feedback.
- JoeLovelessCopper ContributorWhen we did device assignments, we saw all sorts of issues with AutoPilot restarting or errors. Switching to user group/filtering worked better. What is the preferred method of how to deploy profiles in Intune for Windows devices?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
We don't have any specific filters recommendations for devices that are enrolled via Autopilot.- KevinMineweaser_MSFT
Microsoft
Hi Joe, we also had an Autopilot session yesterday. If there are specific issues or feature requests that you have feedback on for Autopilot restart errors we would love to hear more. Here's the session like to provide that feedback.
Thanks!
Kevin
- TimDKBrass ContributorAre there any plans to remove / increase the limit of 200 filters per tenant?
- Joe_Lurie
Microsoft
No plans at this time, but it's great feedback. We have a live AMA coming up with that team later, so if there's any other feedback, we'd love to hear it! https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/endpoint-management-events/feedback-wanted-making-the-admin-experience-great-in-microsoft/ec-p/3652953
- Marc_LafIron ContributorCreating filters requires knowing exactly what the value is called that you're looking for. If you incorrectly type a value and try to evaluate it against a device, it will fail but in failing will tell you what value that particular device had. It would be much quicker if we could pick a device first and then derive a filter from values found on that device where all values available for matching were presented.
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
Thanks for the feedback Marc. My best suggestion to make this quicker for you is to use the "Device preview" feature while creating a filter as this will show you all the values for devices that could be used along with the resulting devices.- Marc_LafIron ContributorYeah it's just that sometimes we have an idea of what we want to accomplish but don't know the parts available to us.
- Rob de RoosIron ContributorFilters are not always applicable. Will they be available on all possible locations within Intune in the near future?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
I guess you mean that you can't use them on all assignable workloads in the console. This is the list of supported workloads and we are working towards adding others over time based on your feedback. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/filters-supported-workloads- JoeLovelessCopper ContributorWould love to use filters in all of the Endpoint Security nodes (Bitlocker)

Welcome to Grouping, targeting, and filters: recommendations in Microsoft Intune at the Microsoft Technical Takeoff. Let's get started! Have a question? Post it here in the Comments. Subject matter experts will be answering during the session and throughout the week. We're looking forward to the conversation.
- HeyHey16KIron ContributorFilters have been particularly useful for us, especially for the update rings and app deployments. Would it be possible to add more properties to filter on please?
- Scott Duffey
Microsoft
Hi Michelle, Yes! We plan to add more filter properties over time! If you have some properties in mind, please share with us in the live Admin Experiences feedback session today: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/endpoint-management-events/feedback-wanted-making-the-admin-experience-great-in-microsoft/ec-p/3652953
