Advanced Analytics and Device Query (KQL query) are currently supported only on individual devices. Can we have an option to run this on device groups in the future?

Hey there-- this already got asked! Pasting the response: Great question! We recognize this is a popular scenario, and we're actively investing in it.
- RLope20097Copper ContributorI understand we are in the early stages of this, but I'm curious how the app update experience will look with this new enterprise managed apps world. For example, we have, let's say almost 10k end-users with Google Chrome installed as an win32 app and want to switch over to an enterprise managed app experience. Simple supersede? Or are we looking at massive uninstallation, wait, push the new app? We run into this often when going from a win32 app to a Microsoft Store App

RLope20097 Good question. We expect that most of your devices already have Chrome, and Notepad++, etc. I'd suggest that you still deploy the catalog app, but use a detection rule to prevent it from being reinstalled. Then when updates come out, you'll be able to easily target those devices with the newer version.
- vontierBrass ContributorMy question is related to license cost. Out in the market are other vendors with the same solution at a very low price that MS (Patch My PC). Why I would select Enterprise app Management? Why MS do not include this add-on in the E3 or E5 licenses?
- MaenXeBrass ContributorI love Danny's candor. 100% the admins should be accountable for previous version handling, thanks for the new configuration option!
- JFRigotBrass ContributorIf we change the Uninstall command (Win32 app) after deployment, which Uninstall command is being used within the later Supersedence? The orginal one or the modified one?

Does supersedence in Intune make the app mandatory, as it does in ConfigMgr? Hopefully, not.
- SigurdWernerIron ContributorI can't see a business case why an app that is assigned as Available and picked by the end-user for installation should not get automatically updated?

- tpeckmanCopper ContributorWill it be possible to use device query to add/remove devices from dynamic security groups for remediation or other tasks?

Hi there! Abby from the feature team here-- the short answer is not with our upcoming release, but we have heard this feedback a lot and are gathering requirements on it. Would love to hear if you have specific scenarios where you see yourself most likely to need the functionality!
- David_S165Brass ContributorAny plans to make remediation built into the Company Portal app deployment? If Company Portal ever gets removed, it never reinstalls automatically. If a device has no other apps, it should always have Company Portal to be able to manage the other app installs.

- MaenXeBrass ContributorApp Catalog looks amazing! I really think this could be a game changer for Intune, but requiring elevated license kinda jumps the shark. This type of functionality has been the bread and butter of Chocolatey and Win-Get for years. I would love to see it in iNtUnE (sorry, had to do it) with an M365 E3 subscription.
