Event details
Join us on Thursday, November 9th at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time for an exciting Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Microsoft 365 Copilot. This live, text-based online event will allow you to connect with Microsoft product experts who will answer your questions and provide valuable insights on how to prepare your organization for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Get Ready for Microsoft Ignite
As we approach Microsoft Ignite, it is crucial to ensure your organization is technically ready for the full potential of Microsoft 365 Copilot. This AMA will focus on technical readiness and pre-Ignite content and questions related to Copilot. Our experts will share best practices and provide guidance on how to maximize the benefits of Copilot within your organization.
How the AMA Works
This AMA will be a live text-based online event with no audio or video component, similar to an "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit. To participate, simply post your questions about Microsoft 365 Copilot in the comments section below. While you can start posting your questions now, please note that our experts will only answer questions during the live event.

- colceriuCopper ContributorHow deep and wide into the user's org data does the Semantic Index reach when pulling together the grounding details? What if the user has access to literarily 1+ million documents?
- ScottSchnollBronze Contributor
Permission to a document isn't enough. The user would have to access a doc for it to be in their semantic index. As part of the grounding process, Copilot uses context to determine what files, objects, etc., to use as part of its response.
- colceriuCopper ContributorSomething like "recent documents" you mean? If so, what does "recent" mean in terms of timeline? And what does "access" mean in this context - will saving a file on my onedrive (without actually opening it) put that file in Semnatic Index's scope for the next prompt?
- Robert_ZeisOccasional ReaderFor enterprise customers, can we limit the number of Copilot licenses that are issued? For instance, everyone has M365, but can we only turn on Copilot for selected users?
- ScottSchnollBronze ContributorYes. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 365 Copilot are two separate licenses, so you can assign Copilot licenses to a subset of your Microsoft 365 users.
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
Copilot is a separate SKU, you need to purchase it separately and assign available licenses to your users.
- JPRdyNetBrass ContributorWill Microsoft be providing any demo environments (perhaps with scripts) for partners to leverage? If so, when and what will be the process to schedule their use?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
We are actively working on it, but no details, timelines to share yet. - KevinSherman
Microsoft
We are anxious to be able to support this but do not currently have mechanism for doing so. We'll update the partner community as soon as we have news to share.

- Roberto_MatsuzakaCopper ContributorIs Copilot available in Brazilian Portuguese? Including the language interpretation on Teams?
- ScottSchnollBronze ContributorYes, that is one of the supported languages at GA.
- JPRdyNetBrass ContributorHow will support be provided when a Copilot's corpus of data includes data from outside sources via connectors/plugins?
- KevinSherman
Microsoft
Can you say more about what type of "support' you're looking for in this context? If you haven't already, take a look at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/connecting-external-content-experiences#microsoft-365-copilot to see more about using Graph Connectors in Copilot.- JPRdyNetBrass ContributorThanks for your reply, Kevin. For context, suppose that I am not getting any responses that consider data from a plugin-connected resource. I need to troubleshoot and do not know where to start.
- mscarinacBrass ContributorCan you buy licenses as needed or is there a minimum?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
300 is the min requirement.- mscarinacBrass ContributorThank you. Is there an opportunity to buy several to demo before committing to the 300 min?
- Kristie_WilkersonBrass ContributorAre there plans to make M365 Power Platform CoPilot available as part of "Developer Program" clouds?
- GabeHoIron ContributorHey Kristie, I'm not certain on this yet, but there might be some sessions at Ignite next week that should cover the topic.
- mscarinacBrass ContributorAre there any stats that can be provided to show productivity gains from using copilot that I can share with leadership?
- Samer_Baroudi
Microsoft

- Kristie_WilkersonBrass ContributorI have been using CoPilot for TEAMS and found some issues where names were being spelled wrong because it uses the transcription, rather than official users attending the meeting. Is Microsoft aware of this issue? Are there plans to improve the AI behind "transcriptions" so errors do not carry over into CoPilot meeting recaps, action item summaries, etc?
- KevinSherman
Microsoft
Thanks for sharing the feedback. Next time you see this can you please use the "thumbs down" button to submit this feedback?- Kristie_WilkersonBrass ContributorWill do.
