Copilot Teams Chat currently has a search return limit of 10 items, so when I returned from my holiday this week and asked "Copilot, how many emails have I received in the last week and what are the most important?", it returned "You received 10 emails last week", and then listed 4 of those 10 that it thought were important.

This search limit of 10 items is a fundamental blocker to Copilot Team Chat being useful. Please can the Product Group advise when this limit will be removed?

If you take the use case of someone returning from a 2-week holiday who might receive ~100 emails / day, plus Teams chat + channel messages, etc., that should give a guide as to the minimum search item limit needed for this to become of practical use... But ideally there would not be such a limit - e.g. if I search for an email in Outlook (not using Copilot), I'll receive 2 years worth of results based on the default Exchange Archive policy - if Copilot is missing key data based on a search item limit, it will return poorer results.

When was your license activated? Maybe then semantic index wasn't fully completed yet? I'm just guessing - we started using Copilot this week and also experience similar behaviors but will wait for the rough 4 weeks time before drawing any conclusions...

Hey Greg, thanks for the question! It sounds like you're Copilot user in the Early Access Program. I'd recommend reaching out to your Center of Excellence or Admin to more thoroughly investigate this.

Thanks Gabe, yes indeed - I'm part of our CoE / Admin team on this one! - we've previously posed this question in a Msft webinar a few weeks ago, and at that time, the answer was "we're aware of this and working on it", so was hoping for the latest update - thank you :-) (Katrin, we enabled our first accounts about 3 weeks ago, so I suspect it's unrelated to the semantic indexing.)

Copilot GTM - Readiness, Materials, Workshop motions etc

When are we likely to see any M365, Sales or Security copilot related materials for Partners to use for customers beyond the currently sparse adoption site, various old announcements from Inspire and several MSLearn articles?

The last public facing announcement was about the M365 copilot $30USD price.... then nothing beyond some teaser videos.

Partners are fielding questions from customers who saw the announcements and read about the promise of copilot in the press everyday - they want copilot NOW and want to know the who, what, where, why, when – and all we can tell them is it is coming soon but we don't know when. Partners don't have copilot access ourselves to be able to demo or develop our own materials.

Most partners are trying to utilise the momentum to educate their customers on copilot and develop offerings/solutions for copilot readiness focusing on secure productivity, organisational change, adoption, data governance etc - but there is little to no actual MSFT guidance or collateral. Customers need to know what steps they have to take on the journey to copilot release.

It would be great to have:

    • A timeline for when partners will be able to access copilot (beyond the EAP).
    • An actual timeline for GA release
    • Copilot Partner training resources for sellers, consultants etc. (There is a seller training event but it’s not at APAC times)
    • A GTM readiness campaign now with assets Partners can customise (including up to date EDM, videos, decks, screenshots, battlecards etc).
    • A funded copilot workshop or briefing motion (or even just the collateral) similar to MCI Build Intent or DMWL briefings to start the art of the possible discussions with clients and set them up for success with copilot.
    • Actual examples of business use cases and ROI for M365 copilot based on what the team is seeing in the EAP,  this can be expanded to vertical/industry use cases

If I remove an M365 Copilot license from a user, does their "individual semantic index" get deleted? If I assign that same license to another user, is there any impact to the newly licensed user?

At this time, the individual semantic index is disabled when a license is revoked. We will confirm operation in our documentation after more testing with our early access program. There is no impact to a newly licensed user.

I'm unable (unwilling) to join owing to the timezone difference as this will be 2am AEST, Sydney. I would like to know what is the purpose of the Copilot button in Excel which simply takes me to an external Microsoft web page and seems to perform no other function? I'm also interested in the availability of Copilot integration into other applications such as Defender/Security. Do we have any indicative dates and whether or not it will be made available to existing Copilot EAP customers? Many thanks.
