That setting you suggested is what I already have, sadly.
It's just that whenever you move or resize them they often go nuts!
I almost always change the wrap to "Through". (That problem still happens sometimes, but maybe I'll set the default to that and see what happens.

When you do that it will be inserted at the location of the cursor if it will fit on the current page. If it won't, it will appear at the top of the next page.
If you then re-size the object, it then may move to the previous page if the size is reduced enough for it to fit, or move to the next page if the size is increased so that it will no longer fit at the bottom of the page.
- Thank you for that. Generally, it does, but not always if it is manually moved, it seems to do what it wants. I wish I had a screen recording of it...
