Word Online: 'Catch up' button?

Hi, for the past few weeks I'm seeing this button. When I open a document, the button is active for 2 or 3 seconds then it turns inactive.        A MS support tech told me it's ~for compari...

HI DavisMichael, yes, it never made sense to me. Anyway, it seems to have been removed, as I haven't seen it for a while now.

Pete_FFC I see the Catch up button (online) today (02/08/2024). I click it and it yields:

  1. A dialog titled: Activity to catch up on: that reads [person] made changes.
  2. Elsewhere in the document:
    • A pop-up that reads "[person] * New! Edits N hours ago"
    • Scrolling down I eventually see the highlighted changes that were made.

I find it useful.
