Dear Doug -- I'm embarrassed to confess that my Word program is version 12.1 from 2008. It still works so I use it, but maybe that's part of the problem. Anyway, I followed your advice "Go to File>Info>Manage Document>Recover Unsaved Files and see if it is there" but there is no 'Info' when I go to File. Anyway, thanks for your suggested remedy -- if I can recover the file somehow you will indeed be my MVP! (Most Valuable Player) BTW we purchased a new iMac and will download Word 365 now.
