Word documents corrupted

I wrote 2 essays on Word in January of this year (2021), and wanted to edit them now, before submitting them tomorrow. I could not find the original .dox files, but instead they had been broken up into 

Wordworkfiles.asd . Also, none of these files were complete, but just had one or 2 pages each, with incomplete number of words. Some were 2 pages long, or one page. In other words, I'm missing lots of pages. What do I do? I'm desperate.
