Word 2016 Issues

Where is\was the document saved?
It sounds like it might have been saved to a "cloud" location and that the issue has occured due to a connectivity issue.
It is my belief that saving to a "cloud" location should be avoided unless you have a really "bullet proof" internet connection and for that reason, I always save to a folder on the local drive.

- I suspected that as well. It is being saved to a network location(Folder Redirection). I've checked that issue and am able to navigate to the folder location through windows explorer at the time these issues are occurring and can even create/delete a file. When this occurs, I cannot even get the folder browser to open within Word to select a new location to save the file. I attempted to change the save location to the local disk when this was occurring, but could never get the option to select a new save location.....Save-As would not pull up the folder browser.
