Why am i able to adjust the column , by overlapping text ?
Hi all , I am able to adjust the column width , by overlapping the text present in the previous column . Does anybody know why im facing such a issue ?

This is standard, out-of-the-box Word behavior. Each cell has left and right indents which do not necessarily move when you move the edge of the column.
Word assumes that you do not want to change the width of a table and when you change the width of any column it will steal the space from the adjacent column.
I tend to adjust the width using the mouse rather than the settings.
Once you have a table design you like, you can save it as a Quick Table for re-use.
