When I open a word file the Word application opens two or more word files.
The microsoft support recomended repair but it's doesn't work and recomended that "Word > Preferences > General > unmark the check box that is labeled "Track Recently Opened..." but i couldn't find it.

That option was available in Word 2011 for Mac but it has been removed in later versions. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/help-protect-your-privacy-252a47ec-1b31-4fd0-8450-e66d6c2de950.
