Using Word in Mac Tahoe, OS 26.3

I've been using MS Word in Macs since 2009.  Its worked well until Copilot was thrust upon us. Since then, using Word has become a hair tearing experience. It seems Copilot cannot be denied, we must accept it and be happy. I ain't happy!  I am writing a story, about 19 A4 pages but I cannot get it to display in / on  separate pages as was normal.  It shows in unbroken sequence with dotted lines showing where each page ends.  I've tried several ways to insert page breaks but so far nothing works.  I guess the solution is right there but I haven't found it.  I would appreciate some help.
