Useability
Second, a request that you edit your post's title:
Would you please edit your post's title to something like: "Order of Styles when using Find and Replace?" Virtually everyone here has a problem with or question about Word's usability. People who have the same question you have, need to be able to find the question. People who answer questions here often will skip something as vague as that. You may want to look at How to Ask Questions In this Forum (to get the best and quickest answers) for more thoughts.
Finally, a possible answer to your question:
In the Windows desktop application, you can change the order in which Word displays styles. I generally keep mine set to show all styles and to display in alphabetical order.

As far as I know, Word for the Mac has no comparable feature, but I do not use a Mac.
I did not know that this changed the order in the Replace dialog, but checked. If the display order is set to an alphabetical list, that will apply to the Replace dialog when searching for styles.
The thing is, Word is a huge program that has gone through umpteen revisions, often by people coding who do not use the program and who do not know how a change they make will affect other features.
