Track changes by author doesn't work

Looking at your document, only one editor is recognized: Carol Shookhoff. On the Review tab, click Show Markup and then click Specific People.

It is the same problem with your most recent version: only one user is listed.
Are you and your husband using the same computer? Are you saving locally or to OneDrive?
This may be a bit of a long shot, but if you are using the same machine and different online accounts, try the following: At File > Options > General, clear the option "Always use these values regardless of sign in to Office." See the screen shot.
I had a friend email me an attachment containing text with an edit; By Author worked in two colors with no adjusting at all. My husband thinks maybe By Author doesn't work with his docs when he sends them to me because he and i share a Microsoft 365 account, even though File: Options shows he has his own name and initials on it.

Thanks for the follow-up. If you and your husband are sharing the same account, then you are treated as one and the same user by the Track Changes feature. Of course, if you click the "Always use these values..." option and specify different user names in the Word Options dialog box, you should be recognized as separate reviewers/editors.
