those annoying ~$ files
My Word (using Mac Sonoma) leaves behind these ~$ files. They are supposed to be temporary, but they look like files I was last dealing with months ago. They are NOT temporary. I wanted to clean them...

OK, the issue is that a simple "rm ~$*" doesn't delete them. What works is this - "rm -i './~$'*". Kind of a PIA.

This is really an Apple question rather than a Word question.
Again, storing documents on your desktop is almost always a bad idea.
