Stop Word from defaulting to an Asian script when pasting or auto-correcting certain symbols

Whenever I try to paste or auto-correct these symbols in MS Word:

∧ ∨ ⊕ ⊙ ↑ ↓ ∴ ∵ 

they always default to the font "DengXian Light (Headings Asian)" but I want those symbols to have the same font as everything else (Palatino Linotype). How do stop wording from doing that?

P.S. I've tried some other symbols: ≔ ∃ ∀ They default to Cambria Math but don't have versions in Palatino Linotype.

P.P.S. I'm NOT using the equation field. I want to use it with regular text.
