Shift key acting up.
Left shift key randomly brings up "We've reached the end of the document. Do you want to continue searching from the beginning?" Yes response finds whatever last search entry was. No response closes ...
Sorry for slow reply. Yes, does occur in safe mode, also on reinstalled Office. Seems to be less often, but I wasn't really keeping track.
Which version of Word are you using?
Desktop application in Windows?
Desktop application on the Mac?
Browser/online version?
Mobile version?

OK, that is the Desktop application. It could be Microsoft 365, Office 2016, Office 2019, or Office 2021 in any update. They all place Winword.exe in that location. Take a look at File > Account > About Word for more on which version and update you are using.
