Scrolling in draft mode does not work

Just subscribed Office 365 and downloaded the latest version of Word.

When I'm working in draft view, scrolling with a touchpad does not work.

-scrolling is much faster/sensitive, than normal

-scrolls randomly in the wrong direction

Does anyone know something about this issue? Is there a solution out there?

I don't experience that in draft mode (Dell Premium laptop w/ Win 11); but it's definitely awkward to do the 2 finger drag on the touch pad in order to scroll (is that how yours works?).  However, the only time I'm in draft mode is if I want to see the styles applied to each paragraph or I'm having difficulty seeing page & section breaks.  I otherwise find Draft mode useless since what you're seeing on screen obviously isn't how it's going to print.  So I assume you're in draft mode for one of the foregoing reasons?  But the easy solution is to get yourself an MX Anywhere mouse and stop using the track pad (which I personally find to be the most annoying method for moving a cursor or clicking on something).  I feel that I can go about twice as fast with a mouse compared to a touchpad; and I never experience strange behavior like what you're describing.  An MX mouse doesn't require a mouse pad and will work on virtually any surface, including clear glass, the arm of a chair, etc.

In Word, check the draft view smooth scrolling can be fixed, can not be turned off the hardware acceleration or change the graphics card driver.
