Removing some but not all page numbers
Hello everybody, I am currently formatting my book for Amazon print-on-demand using the Word 6x9 template. My book proper begins on page 7, preceded by pages showing the book's title, copyright disclaimers, contents page and dedication. Those pages should not have page numbers, but I am unable to remove the numbers. I have tried Word's suggestion re formatting pages but without success.

Conor_Biggs , just add section break,
see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuEmgyijeVE&list=PLpDru_YVuZRt9cFHzZop0_I8fGz5sfRKx&index=9 for a video tutorial.
Conor_Biggs You need to insert a Next Page Section Break between pages 6 and 7 and then with the selection on Page 7, move to the top or bottom of the page, depending upon where you want the page numbers and then right click and then click on Edit Header or Edit Footer as the case may be and then click on the Link to Previous button in the Navigation section of the Header & Footer toolbar to unlink the Header\Footer from that in the first Section of the document and then using ALT+SHIFT+p insert a Page field. If you want page numbering to start at 1, expand the Page Number drop-down in the Header & Footer section of the Header & Footer tab of the ribbon and then click on Format Page Numbers and in the Page Number Format dialog that will appear, select the "Start at:" radio button and select 1 from the adjacent control.

In Word, you will have to insert a section break, and then you can unlink headers (and/or footers) so that you can remove the page numbers for the first section of the document. See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/FrontMatterRibbon.htm.
