Remove period from footnote

My footnote reference has a period at the end of the number. I want to delete it, so just the footnote reference number appears.

 

Any ideas

    cedelsburg365 Are you refering to the "dot" highlighted in yellow in the following screen shot?

     

     

    If so, that is actually the formatting mark that indicates the presence of a space and its display can be turned off by clicking on CTRL+*  It will not print, even if it is displayed.
