Protected Word forms for assignments

Hello, I'm hoping someone could please help me.

I need to create a document that can be used for assignments.  I want to be able to provide the student with instructions and information and have sections that they fill in.  I don't want them to be able to change the document other than where they are required to answer questions.  I was a student using one just recently and it was cumbersome and confusing to work through.  Can anyone point me to:

- instructions on how to use these features

- samples of this type of document that are clear and easy to follow - I'd really like to get some ideas

Thank you

Kylie

    Sorry for the late reply.

    See:

Note that no form in Word with restricted editing works well in the online/browser version of Word. The student will really need to be using the desktop application. Do not mix Content Controls and Legacy Form Fields or ActiveX content.

If your students do not have access to the desktop application you are probably better off composing or finishing the forms with a pdf editor like Adobe Acrobat or one of the less expensive options.

    Hi Kylie,
Not sure if you going to see this but did you ever figure this out or a workaround? I'm currently trying to do the same thing.
