Printing Spelling/Grammer Error Markers

I would like to know if there is a way to make the red squiggly lines and blue grammar lines in word show up when printing. I am interested in showing students what is wrong on paper so that they can have a better understanding of the work given to them. I am not interested in markups or changes; I am only interested in spelling or grammar errors.

  • You will have to take screen shots of the lines that are created by the spellchecker and grammar checker. Then print the (document which contains the) screen shots.

This is not something built into Word. I believe a macro can do close to what you want, but it would permanently put the markers in the text as an underline or shading. You would want to work with a copy.

(I don't know a macro off-hand but suspect that someone else may be able to put one together.)

Take a look at Greg Maxey's contributions here where someone was looking for a macro that gave a list of spelling errors. If you think that will give you what you want, let us know. Do not post in another forum without looking at A Message to Forum Cross-Posters.

If no one comes up with one in a few days, I will check back and try to find or create one if that would be useful. Stefan's idea is much simpler, at least for me.

That never even crossed my mind, thank you, that is a great idea.
