office 2013 templates will not download

Doug_Robbins_Word_MVP I found if I go to File, then options at the bottom, under General you go to Trust Center, hit Trust Center Settings, go to Privacy Options on the left bottom and hit that, uncheck allow office to internet connection and then hit OK. It will give me the templates that are attached to the program itself and they work. When I have internet connection checked off, that is when it gives me the error. This problem has been talked about on Google for a long time without it being solved. A lot of people have run into the same problem.
When you try to go to File>Options>General>Privacy Settings>Experiences that download online content and check the box for "Turn on experiences that download online content". There is no Privacy Settings under General.
- Jul 18, 2022I guess the reason that you did not see Privacy Settings under General is because you are using an outdated version of Office. That is where is is on the current versions of Office.

Doug_Robbins_Word_MVP I also owned office 2016 and I felt 13 and 10 were better. With all the complaints I have read on Google about the same thing I’m talking about here, You would think that Microsoft would’ve corrected this problem with an update. I will never purchase a program such as Office 365, I do not believe a monthly fee for a program is in my best interest. Just a way for Microsoft to make money continuously off their customers. If you cannot Come up with a solution for this problem, I guess our discussion is over.

Doug_Robbins_Word_MVP When you open Office 2013 and you hit "new" a list of templates shows up that is on-line, not part of the internal program. I tried to open everyone of them but it showed an error. Bryan from Microsoft was very attentive and showed outstanding initiative to help me with this problem. Between him asking for help in the Microsoft office and investigating on his own time, could not come up with a solution. I therefore turned off the Office 2013 access to the internet and it gave me all the templates that came with the program. Which was good. Bryan called me the next day after I emailed him to tell him how I solved the problem for myself and he said thank you. What a wonderful employee you have. But that problem still exists and when you Google it, many people have had the same problem. You should figure it out and create an update for Office 2013 so people will not have that problem that still lingers. Bryan's supervisor came back with that Office 2013 is obsolete and Microsoft no longer does updates for it. He needs to find a new profession. VERY POOR RESPONSE.

Bryan's supervisor was being honest with you!
However, go to File>Options>General>Privacy Settings>Experiences that download online content and check the box for "Turn on experiences that download online content"
I am assuming that option is available in Word 2013, which I no longer have installed because it has been superseded and is no longer supported.
