Hello, As of a few days ago, my cursor in Word cannot keep up with my arrow keys. For example, if I press the right-arrow key five times, it takes Word a few seconds for the cursor to get there. This...

Yes, I am using Mendeley plugin. I have not tried disabling it yet, but next time I have a large Word file to edit I will try. I am sure that is problem based on all the comments here.

If you are like me, and Mendeley is life, then this is the "fix" Mendeley has provided to me (however, I have not tried it yet because uninstalling and reinstalling Word/Office isn't an option for me):
1. Create a copy of your manuscript if there is any and uninstall Word
2. Uninstall Mendeley Word plug-in from the Tools Tab in Mendeley
3. Uninstall Mendeley Desktop.
4. Reboot device/machine.
5. Reinstall Mendeley Desktop 1.19.8: https://www.mendeley.com/autoupdates/installers/1.19.8
6. Reinstall Word
7. Reinstall Word Plug in from the Tools Tab in Mendeley

I tried this, without uninstalling word. I just uninstalled the Mendeley plugin and Mendeley Desktop. Then I installed it again and the problem seems to be fixed. I'm glad because I've been looking for a solution for a while...

I just tried uninstalling and re-installing Mendeley Desktop without uninstalling Word. Sadly the problem persists for me. I haven't tried uninstalling/reinstalling Office, as it regularly updates anyway, and none of the recent updates have helped. So far the only thing that has worked for me is disabling the Mendeley add-in.
- DucPhamAug 31, 2021Brass ContributorInstead of Mendeley Desktop with Word add-in, you can try Mendeley Reference Manager and use their "Medeley Cite" app for Word.
- michaeldgarberAug 09, 2021Brass ContributorThanks - I'll give this a try.
