Inserting a vignetted picture into a text box.
Not sure how to explain just what I want. I have a picture of a vehicle with a vignette around the exterior of the vehicle, and I wish to insert this picture under text inside a text box, but do not want the white background beyond the vignette the to show. There must be a simple option and have been through all the 'layout options' with no joy. Any ideas appreciated, or is it beyond the capabilities of Word?

186000milespersecond If you save the picture as a gif, you can select a colour that will be transparent.

Hi Doug.
I am using 'Word' and have saved as a Gif but unable to follow your instructions. Can you elaborate please.Cheers,
Les.186000milespersecond Open the image in a graphics application such as IrfanView (free) and then when you use Save As in that application, you will be able to set a colour to be transparent
