Image size in Word on 24H2
When inserting images in to Word (desktop) on Windows 24H2, the image size appears to be ignored and it puts the image full width across the page. Doing the same thing with the same version of Word on Windows 23H2 it inserts as per the actual image size. Is this a bug or has something changed and is there therefore a setting somewhere to set it back to the 23H2 way?

Hi,
I have the same problem and had contact to O365 Support... fail....
But I was searching more and found a solution, and the problem - but why it happens is a secret to me.The pictures' DPI is read different in Windows 23H2 and 24H2.
Properties of a example file in Windows 23H2 --> 300 DPI (correct!)
Now the same file in Windows 24H2 (96 DPI - wrong, and WHY?)
But the problem in word is then clear. Word thinks it has a file with 96 DPI (not 300 DPI) and the size in word is about 3x bigger
--> there is someting im Windows 24H2 which is different!
Greetings
Eugen
- JohnB50Copper ContributorThanks for your reply. That's really useful. Yes I can confirm we are seeing the same thing. If you look at the image properties in 24H2 its set at 96 DPI, but on our server its correct at 200DPI. In Photoshop it also shows as 200DPI, but even rescaling and saving in Photoshop, immediately it reverts to 96DPI in Windows. It seems to be a bug to me in how 24H2 is handling the resolution of images. Not sure if its anything to do with the changes they have made to upscale some images I believe.

No word from Microsoft still on this, but it appears to be fixed in the December CU for 24H2 released overnight.
