iCloud Outlook Contacts, folders, and WORD Mail Merge
- Aug 10, 2025
Below workarounds you may consider:
1. Export the “Carvers” Folder to a CSV File
Steps:
• In Outlook, go to your iCloud Contacts and open the “Carvers” folder.
• Select all contacts in that folder.
• Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
• Choose Export to a file > Comma Separated Values (CSV).
• Save the file to your computer.
• In Word, start your Mail Merge and choose Use an existing list, then select the CSV file.
This lets you target only the contacts in “Carvers” and gives you full control over fields.
2. Copy Contacts to a Local Outlook Folder Temporarily
Steps:
• In Outlook, create a new local contacts folder (not under iCloud).
• Copy the contacts from “Carvers” into this folder.
• Word will now be able to see this folder during Mail Merge.
This avoids exporting but requires manual copying.
3. Use Categories Instead of Subfolders
Steps:
• Assign a unique category (e.g., “Carvers”) to those contacts.
• In Word, start Mail Merge and choose Outlook Contacts.
• Filter by category when selecting recipients.
This method is more dynamic and works well if you frequently update your list.
Thanks! I tried and "Categorized" my folder with the choice red. so how do I filter for the red Categorised?
or do I need to create and use a user field. If so Can I add that field and fill it in for the whole folder?
