Your screen shot shows content controls. These may not be fully editable in Word for Mac, unfortunately.
Is the document protected in some (other) way?
- Ohh no 😞 no, the document is not protected at all. So is there anything I could do to change that variable field? Or use some other program similar to Word in which I can change it?

Or you could share the document (or a representative shortened sample version) with the forum, if you want to.
