What even is the point of these? They don't even make microsoft any money.

    While it might seem like they don't make money directly, providing reliable and user-friendly tools helps Microsoft retain customers and promote their broader ecosystem (like Microsoft 365, Azure, etc.). Plus, many of these repair tools are free because they aim to keep users satisfied and prevent them from switching to competitors.
