how do I copy text from word to another program without comments.
I open a word document from my onedrive.
I switch the word document to read only so I don't accidentally modify it.
i turn on review column so I can see the comments. I need to see paragraphs with comments. I need to copy text without comments.
I want to select a paragraph that has been commented on and copy the text to a non-microsoft program that I can then work on the text.
when I select the paragraph, and copy, then switch app, then paste, the comments and initials of the editors appears in the text.
i never, ever, want to copy comments under any circumstances whatsoever. how do I tell word that when copying text, copy just the text.
My 'review > display for review' is set to no markup. but the comments still copy.
When I copy text and put it into another program, it is FULL of this sort of thing, with a whole bunch of comments at the end of the paragraph.
No matter what I do in Review, the comments always come with the text.

You can paste the text into NotePad, then select and copy the text in NotePad, and finally paste it in the actual target. This will remove comments (as well as other formatting).

After copying, select Paste as unformatted textor Keep text only.

When I copy from Word, it puts extra formatting into my clipboard that I cannot see on the screen. The comment history.
When I paste from my clipboard into another program, like Adobe Acrobat or a browser, it shows the comments.
Other programs do not have "Keep text only".

'paste as unformatted' is only an option when pasting back into word, which I am not doing. That paste option is a feature of word, and not every program on my computer has the option to 'keep text only'. I get the extra stuff even if I paste into Adobe Acrobat, or Illustrator, or into rich editors on the web, or into a note taking app, or a terminal or an email or anything. Word is putting the comments into the clipboard. I can't see them when I am copying the text from word. It is invisible data that I don't expect to have.
