Help with numbered lists formatting
Hi All,
I'm trying to create a word document that has two numbered lists in it. Both start from 1, but I want them both to be in different colours. When I try to change the colour of one, the other lists colour keeps changing to match. I originally created the second list and the numbering continued, so I right clicked and set it to start from 1 also. But now it's staying as the same colour format as the first list even though I want them to be different.
Any help on how to do that and to change the second list to a different colour would be much appreciated!
Thank you

LahertL I gather that they are not multilevel lists, but even if they are, you need to assign the numbers from each of the list to separate Styles, which you can then format individually and you number the text by assigning the appropriate Style to it.
While it is not its intended purpose, you need to start with the Define New Multilevel List facility in the Paragraph Section of the Home tab of the Ribbon
You will need to click on the More button in the Define new Multilevel list dialog to see the facility for assigning each level of the list to a Style.
If you use say Levels 1 and 2, you will need to define the numbering for Level 2 so that it does NOT include the number from Level 1.

Sorry for the late reply.
That's really helpful thanks for your help! Adding the new multilevel list in each colour did the trick.
Thanks again,
