Error message 'Export failed due to unexpected error' when trying to save a document as a PDF.
I am having the same issue. I too have pictures in my documents. It usually works the second or third time I try. I will try the fix listed above.
I have seen intermittent error messages in Word when trying to convert to PDF. It usually works on the second attempt. It is possible that the most recent Office updates have fixed the error. If not, send feedback via File > Feedback (Word for Windows).
The problem may come from the default font of the Word Office 365 document, the default font is "Aptos (Body)" it is possible the font has trouble converting to PDF, so the solution changes the default font of Word to the previous font which was "Calibri or Arial". In the Font ribbon at the bottom right there is an arrow with a hidden menu choose the font and click on the set default button, it will apply on all new documents.
