Digital Signatures

I have received a document with multiple digital signature lines. First signature completed by the sender. I save the doc from the email and open it from the Word. I am able to add my signature but when I try to save the doc to a different location , Word removes the signatures. However if I save it to the same location, it retain both the signatures. Why the signatures are removed if the doc is saved to a different location.
