Changing icons in Quick Access Toolbar
Hello:
I have the default icon for Preview and Print in the Quick access Toolbar of MS Word (Office 2010), and I am wondering if it is possible (and how) to change the icon to, in my case, a printer rather than a document with a magnifying glass?
You do have Print Preview and Edit. I added it to my QAT in Word 2010.
You get it from "More Commands" and then, on that dialog, "All Commands."
I understand that learning to edit the XML is more than you want to do for this. You are correct that it is not simple. Unfortunately, this is one of the icons that Word will not let you change just using the Modify button in the Modify QAT dialog.
Do take advantage of the ability to store your QAT modifications in a separate file.
One other thing you may want to add to your QAT is a button for Open Recent Files. This button is available in Word 2010 but is not available to add in later versions of Word, although if added, it does work in later versions. See Recent File QAT Add-In for Word 2013-2024 (365).

Thank you! However, much too complicated. And I have no Print Preview and Edit mode, but the one I have is fine. I'll just leave the icon as it is.
Again, thanks!Hans L

Thank you, Charles. I will look at your post above in more detail in a day or two (when things have calmed down here :-)

There are several print commands. I suggest using Print Preview Edit Mode.
