Accents & Characters using "Alt+Code" appear twice on Word

The source of the problem is (probably) outside of Word.
As a professional translator to Swedish, I often need to enter some special characters, and for that I keep left Alt pressed while I enter the corresponding numeric code on the numeric keypad.
Since some point in 2024 this function behaves weirdly in Word, but also in some other text editors. But there are also places where the problem doesn't occur, like inside Firefox.
