2 page per sheet in landscape mode
- Sep 23, 2024
gddeluca I would suggest that you use a 8.5 x 11 sheet in landscape mode and insert a one row, one column table and set the height of that row to exactly one half of the result of subtracting the top and botton margins from 8.5. For example if the margins are 1", set the height of the row to (8.5 - 1 - 1)/2 = 3.25.
When you press the tab key with the selection in that table, it will add another row with the same vertical dimension.
Print the document in the normal manner - one page per sheet.
Hi Doug,
I'm printing Crypto puzzles for my wife (who is visually impaired) and currently I print in 36Pt and print 2 pages per Letter size sheet in portrait mode. This is working and I've ben doing it for years.
My current document has a 5.5 H x 8.5 W logical 'page', but I'm damned if I can find where that is set. Everything says 8.5 x 11. But in edit mode I can SEE the logical page size during edit. Other than Page Setup, where could I have specified that?
The problem is that in 36Pt many long'ish words wrap and the puzzle exceeds the limited # of lines available (6). I thought if I switched to Landscape printing, I would get longer lines and avoid some of the word wrap. Ultimately I want to try to increase the font size since my wife's vision continues to deteriorate.
I want to try a logical 'page' of 4.25" H x 11" W and then print 2 pages per sheet in Landscape mode. But everything I have tried has failed, usually by going to landscape in two COLUMN mode.
There must be something obvious I'm missing.

Hi, Thanks, that does what I want. But as I feared, increasing the font size blows it all up, puzzles just don't fit. The savings from the longer line and less word wrap don't yield the space needed for a larger font.
I will have to move to 1 puzzle per page to get a noticable increase in font size. Another example of Old Age Sucks!
Many thanks for your suggestions though.
