Extending AGPM support for Windows Server 2025

Does Microsoft have any plans for extending AGPM to Windows Server 2025 or creating a new GPO management and approval system? GPOs are still the best solution for Windows Server, and now even Linux distributions are adding GPO support.

    Hello Steskalj

I was looking the same but as of now, Microsoft hasn't officially announced any plans to extend AGPM support for Windows Server 2025 or release a new GPO management system. However, they continue to improve GPO management tools and support, so it's worth keeping an eye on upcoming updates or announcements. GPOs remain a key part of Windows Server management, and with increasing cross-platform support, it’s possible we'll see more enhancements in this area in the near future.

In the meantime, you might consider using third-party GPO management tools like "Quest Change Auditor for Active Directory", "Netwrix Auditor", or even Microsoft’s own Azure AD for cloud-based GPO management. These tools often offer more advanced auditing, versioning, and management features.

Another option is to start moving towards Azure AD Join and Intune for more modern, cloud-based group policy management and device configuration, especially if you’re planning to integrate with non-Windows systems like Linux.

But If you still need on-prem solutions, PowerShell scripts and Desired State Configuration (DSC) can be used to automate GPO management and approval, though this would require building a custom system and may not worth it depending on your usecase.

    Greetings!
