I asked the browser version of Copilot for you, and it came back with this. 😂

I apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing. The 0xc0000142 error can occur when trying to launch an application, including Microsoft Copilot. Let’s troubleshoot this issue together:

Update Office: Ensure that your Office suite is updated to at least Version 2102 (Build 13801.20808) or later. If you don’t have automatic updates enabled, follow these steps:
Press Win + S and type “Task Scheduler.”
Expand the Task Scheduler Library and select Microsoft > Office.
Find Office Automatic Updates 2.0, right-click it, and choose Run.
If updating Office this way doesn’t work, proceed to the next steps1.
Repair Office from the Control Panel:
On Windows 10, go to Settings > Apps > Default apps. Under Web browser, select Edge as your default browser. If already selected, choose a different browser, save settings, and then select Edge again.
If you’re using a different Windows version, follow the repair tool instructions specific to your OS1.
Run Windows Update: Ensure that you’re running the latest version of Windows. Check for updates and install any pending ones1.
    Check Office Software Protection Platform:
Type “Services” in the Windows 10 search bar and open the app.
Look for a service called Office Software Protection Platform. If listed:
    Right-click it, select Properties.
Confirm that the Startup type is set to Automatic and the Service status is Running. If stopped, click Start.
If not listed, proceed to the next step1.
Uninstall and Reinstall Office: If the previous steps didn’t resolve the issue:
Download the Office uninstall support tool using this link.
Run the tool and follow the instructions to uninstall Office.
Note that uninstalling Office won’t remove your files or documents created using the apps1.
Please try these steps, and if the problem persists, let me know. We’ll continue troubleshooting to get Microsoft Copilot up and running for you! 🚀

Why would i need office installed? Thats not at all related to copilot. Dont try to give solutions to people when your "solution" is written by ai.

I have been testing Copilot for a few weeks now. Suddenly it no longer shows me the results. I just get text and a small square that shows that the image cannot be viewed. When I tried later to see the images, they were small and the ability to save the images was prevented. I asked Copilot about this and it suggested that I update my Windows and do troubleshooting as this is nothing to do with Copilot. Bad news, though, for Copilot as I have using image creation and design software for 24 years, and when a symbol comes up with text, instead of the image and then the image appears, but the stuff allowing for resizing and saving doesn't work, these are all programming issues with Copilot. These have nothing to do with Office or our computers. When is Microsoft going to fix this problem? As a journalist and designer, if this isn't going to be fixed, and the AI cannot admit that it is having programming issues, then I have no choice, but to warn the general public about its short comings and question whether or not this is because it is deliberately programmed to fail after a short time of testing. Time for a real response instead of a blanket series of excuses.
